Default Shop-Factory e-Trader Solution

I haven't checked this out but it sounds interesting, A shop-front plus backend builder that only needs point and click to set it up. Too good to be true? (Where are you Lawrence?)

Other, definitely useful links can be found on the same page: http://downloads.zdnet.co.uk/0,10000...166618s,00.htm

Only 15 products but sounds like it's real easy to use.

I agree with Kate, where lawrence's, he'll know the score.....

The fact that it's only been downloaded 33 times since Mar 2006 on ZDNet should tell you what you need to know!

It's just another piece of S/W to build HTML pages offline that are then uploaded to a server. These types of stores tend to be very limited in features and can take up a huge amount of space on the server if you have a large inventory. Not requiring a database should tell you how limiting the S/W is likely to be. To move from the likes of OSC or Zen to this type of eCommerce solution would be a step backwards. For a novice it might be a good first step if you're prepared to pay what they are charging for the full product.

He's one review I found for it.

The review itself was fairly positive even though it put up Actinic as a better alternative. Not much use to UK traders though even if it was the prince of carts, given that the set-up is strictly US,

It would be interesting to know the percentages of Win '95' '98 '2000 and NT users still out there. The numbers could be surprising.

It's not US based, it's Australian.

There don't seem to be many 95 or NT users still about, though I do get the odd 98 and 2000 user show up on my web stats.

Haven't seen any ME users for years though

I keep forgetting it isn't only Yanks who use dollars as currency.

Don't mention ME, it was a total nightmare. Bought a new system soon after it came out and loathed it. Crash after crash. Two weeks of misery later it got ditched and Win2000 reinstalled - still the best O/S Microsoft have come up with to date in my opinion.
